Installing and Testing the Sanyipace Smart Bidet: A First-Time User’s Experience

I have always wanted a bidet, and I finally got one.

Before this, I assumed installing an electric bidet seat would involve complicated plumbing, special tools, or maybe even a plumber. But everyone I talked to kept telling me the same thing:

They’re actually pretty easy to install. So I decided to find out for myself.
Today, I’m installing and testing the  Sanyipace SU01B Smart Bidet Toilet Seat for the first time.

Unboxing the Sanyipace SU01B

Let’s start with what came in the box.

The first thing that caught my attention was the remote control. A remote for a toilet seat already made this feel much more advanced than anything I had used before.

There’s also a built-in night light, which should make those middle-of-the-night bathroom trips a little easier.

Inside the box, I found:

• The bidet toilet seat
• Mounting hardware
• Remote control and batteries
• Water filter
• Water connection parts
• Fragrance tablet
• Installation instructions

The main hardware needed to install the seat and connect it to the toilet’s water supply was included. My biggest concern wasn’t actually the plumbing. It was the power.

The bathroom where I wanted to install the SU01B didn’t have an outlet close to the toilet. 
If your bathroom is the same, that doesn’t necessarily rule out an electric bidet seat—a licensed electrician can assess the space and determine the best way to add a properly located, grounded, GFCI-protected outlet if needed.

For this first test, I mainly wanted to see how the installation worked and try the seat for myself.

Why I Wanted to Try a Bidet

My interest in bidets actually started with a former coworker.
One day, he came to work absolutely raving about the bidet he had installed at home.

At the time, I barely knew anything about them and assumed they were expensive luxury bathroom fixtures that required complicated plumbing. He quickly corrected me. According to him, installation was simple: install the seat, connect the water, and you’re basically done.

He loved his bidet so much that he kept recommending it to everyone. People would laugh at first, but after trying one themselves, they usually understood why he was so excited. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to see what all the hype was about.

Before Installation: Check the Basics

Before getting started, make sure you’ve checked whether the bidet seat fits your toilet.

Check the bowl shape, mounting-hole spacing, available space behind the seat, water connection, and nearby power before removing your old seat.
My toilet worked with the SU01B, so once that was confirmed, it was time to start.

Removing the Old Toilet Seat

This turned out to be the most frustrating part of the entire installation.
For hours, I tried unscrewing the visible bolts on top of my old toilet seat.

Nothing happened. They would not come loose. Eventually, I looked underneath the toilet and discovered plastic nuts holding the bolts in place from below.

Once I loosened those? The whole thing came apart in about thirty seconds.
Two days of confusion solved almost instantly.

So if your old toilet seat bolts refuse to move, check underneath before assuming you need more strength, different tools, or professional help. Sometimes the problem is much simpler than it looks.

Installing the Sanyipace SU01B Smart Bidet

Once the old seat was out of the way, the actual installation was surprisingly straightforward.

Mounting the Bidet Seat

I inserted the supplied rubber mounts, secured the mounting plate, and slid the SU01B into place until it locked onto the bracket. Compared with removing my old seat, this part was easy.

Connecting the Water Supply

Next, we shut off the toilet’s water supply and connected the three-way valve, water filter, and hose leading to the bidet. There was also a fragrance tablet that fits into its own compartment.

Once everything was connected, the installation was essentially complete. Before plugging in an electric bidet seat, it’s also important to make sure the water connections are secure and there are no leaks.

First Power-Up: Heated Seat and Auto-Open Lid

The moment I powered the bidet on, things got interesting.

As I approached the toilet, the lid suddenly opened by itself.

I was not expecting that. It scared me half to death.

Apparently, the SU01B has a motion-sensing automatic lid.

Once I recovered from being surprised by my own toilet, I had to admit it was pretty cool.

Then I sat down. The seat was warm. I now officially own a heated toilet seat.

I didn’t realize how much I would appreciate that feature until I actually experienced it.

But I still had to test the part that really matters—the bidet itself.

Testing the Sanyipace SU01B Wash Functions

Once seated, I started exploring the remote.

There are controls for rear cleansing, feminine cleansing, automatic cleaning, drying, water temperature, water pressure, spray position, and more.

Naturally, I pressed Auto Cleaning. At first, nothing happened. Then I heard the mechanism activate. A second later— Whoa! The water was warm. Very warm.

That was probably the moment when I finally understood why people get so excited about bidets.

The spray can move during cleaning for wider coverage rather than staying in one fixed position. You can also adjust the water pressure, water temperature, and spray wand position.

For a first-time bidet user, being able to adjust those settings can make the experience feel less intimidating. There’s also a separate feminine wash mode. During this first test, though, I was mostly learning what all the buttons did rather than trying to compare every wash mode in detail.

There are quite a few controls and settings to learn, so I definitely needed more than one bathroom visit to figure everything out. And if you don’t want to use the remote, there’s also a control dial on the side of the seat.

Testing the Warm Air Dryer

The warm air dryer led to the funniest part of the test.

I wanted to see it working without actually sitting on the toilet, so I came up with a slightly unconventional experiment. I put some almond butter on a piece of plastic and tried to make the seat think someone was sitting on it. Kermit and a makeup bag were recruited to add some extra weight.

Unfortunately, Kermit simply wasn’t heavy enough.

No matter what I tried, the dryer wouldn’t activate. The seat sensor wasn’t fooled.

Honestly, that’s probably a good thing. The wash and drying functions are designed to work when someone is properly seated.

My experiment didn’t really tell me how effective the dryer would be during normal use, but it definitely proved the seat sensor was doing its job.

Final Verdict: Is the Sanyipace SU01B Worth It?

Going into this, I expected installing a smart bidet to be much more complicated.
Instead, the hardest part was figuring out how to remove my old toilet seat.

Once everything was installed, the heated seat and warm-water wash immediately stood out to me. I also liked being able to adjust the water pressure, temperature, and spray position rather than being stuck with one setting.

There are still features I need more time to explore, and my Kermit-powered dryer experiment clearly wasn’t the most scientific test.

But for my first experience with a smart bidet, my impression was extremely positive.
